Throughout most of the pandemic, I was at the lowest point in my life where I was barely taking care of myself due to my fixed mindset and lack of confidence. I spent most of my free time indulging in bad habits like smoking weed, vaping and binging on unhealthy foods all while wondering why I had no energy to do well in school and balance a part time job. I've been in a place where it seems impossible to get yourself out of. Although my physical transformation may not seem like much, the mental gains I have cultivated are off of the charts. I did it by leaving a past version of my behind, fostering a growth mindset, eliminating the habits that were destroying my health and setting goals to get me where I wanted so badly to be. It's now my mission to educate others and show them the way that they can make the same thing happen for themselves.
Back in 2021-22 I found myself in a bit of a rut. Down on myself because of another knee surgery, I resorted to eating out every weekend and partying rather than looking after myself. It wasn’t until I gained 20lbs, hated how I looked, and most importantly hated how I felt that I thought something had to change. From that moment, it was time to take action. I began with my mindset, no more “I can’t”, “I’m too tired”, or “well it’s not working right now”. The mindset became “I can”, “I will and will be energized”, and “this is going to benefit me and keep me healthy”. Addressing my mindset around my lifestyle was the most important part or else I wouldn’t have been to make the next steps possible. Which was to begin swapping my unhealthy eating and drinking with whole and healthy foods as well as sticking to a fitness program. Now I find myself constantly seeking these healthy routines in efforts to promote my own longevity. Because to me longevity is about being happy, healthy, and hungry for more of what life has to offer!
